As part of the PetSafe brand presence in an International market, a key strategy was to launch their brand and products into the lucrative Japanese consumer market. However, there were cultural challenges to face.
This needed us to carry out in-depth research into the Japanese consumer profile, their buying habits and ‘buying triggers’ and understand how they related to their pets.
We undertook a ClockWise™ brand workshop to define goals and objectives, We interrogated the PetSafe brand values and established brand strengths that were relevant to the Japanese audience.
We also partnered with a Japanese design agency to help us design and translate packaging to appeal specifically to the Japanese market.
Results
- In the first 14 months of their operation PetSafe has secured distribution for products in the bespoke new range of packaging with all the major Japanese pet store chains.
