From Tube Lines to Steam Trains

clock_martin_sarah3.jpgNov 2006: A leading North West creative consultancy has demonstrated that it isn’t just City-Centre based agencies which attract the region’s top creative talent.

Bury-based Clock Creative Communications has recruited two new staff who have swapped the bright lights of the City for a more peaceful backdrop in the Lancashire market town of Ramsbottom.

Martin Dickson joins Clock with ten years experience in the creative industry gained at several leading Manchester and London agencies. His impressive C.V includes time spent at Cheetham Bell JWT, along with work on accounts including Manchester Evening News, John Smedley Fashion and Budweiser. Most recently he has worked on top consumer publications, Manchester United Magazine and Men’s Fitness Magazine.

Martin is joined at Clock by Sarah Joyce, who also brings extensive experience as a designer. She has worked at several city-centre creative agencies, most recently at Connectpoint, and designed for household names including Antler Luggage, Airtours, and Matalan.

Clock Creative Communications, now in its seventh year, has fast made a name for itself as one of the North West’s leading creative consultancies. Based in the former Working Men’s Club in Ramsbottom, near Bury, Clock has grown to a full service agency offering clients design, new media, creative strategy and PR services.

Clock has built an excellent reputation through its strong creative team and solid client base and has just collected its 9th award. Its potential for the future was recognised earlier this year when it was selected by the DBA (The Design Business Association) as one of only eight agencies in the UK to join their growth mentoring programme.

Ann Rimmer, MD of Clock Creative bought the premises after spending over ten years working in Manchester city centre as she wanted to provide a great workspace for both employees and clients.

She said:

“The decision to move to Ramsbottom has had a hugely positive impact for both our clients and our staff.

“It’s really easy for our staff to get to and from work, and our clients always really enjoy their visits to Clock.

“The addition to the team of Martin and Sarah, along with several recent account wins from leading North West businesses goes to show that where there is great creative talent, location is not an issue”

Martin Dickson said:

“I used to get up early and take three tubes across the centre of London to get to work. Now I have a short drive and the closest I come to trains is the sound of the East Lancashire Steam Railway, which I can see from my desk”
